Dr. Monica R. Gustafson

Dr. Gustafson graduated from The University of Arizona College of Medicine in 2007. She subsequently completed her general surgical residency at The University of Arizona in 2013. During residency, she completed a research fellowship, was awarded the Charles Putnam Chief Resident of the Year Award and Trauma Resident of the Year Award and served as an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor. She went on to complete a Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut where she has become proficient in laparoscopic treatment of diseases of the esophagus, diaphragm, spleen, adrenal gland, gallbladder and abdominal wall. Although she has a special interest in surgical treatment of benign diseases of the esophagus, repair of diaphragmatic hernias and abdominal wall hernias, she is board certified in general surgery and welcomes all patients with general surgical needs.
